Direct Funding

Direct Funding is an innovative program that enables adults with physical disabilities to become employers of their own attendants. As an employer, you would be fully responsible for managing your own employees within a budget developed on an individual basis.

This program is for adults with physical disabilities who want to be responsible for hiring their own attendants. Participants are responsible for managing their own employees within a budget that is set on an individual basis. This is suited to people who are able to take on extra management responsiblities that this program entails. A province wide initiative, direct funding enables adults to receive monthly funds to pay for an attendant, and to make their own schedule for work, school, home or in the community.

The Direct Funding Program is administered by the Centre for Independent Living in Toronto (CILT), Inc., in partnership with the Ontario Network of Independent Living Centres (ONILC). It is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care through the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network.
